oh how wonderful knitting/crochet parties are. I got some yarn and a crochet needle yesterday morning, and was doing it all afternoon, and got Bert and Ston to join. Smi got a knitting kit a long time ago but never got anywhere, he just got some silk yarn and flirted with the store guy. it was a fabulous night, we stayed up till like 4 am and found ourselves awake at 11, a perfect 8 hours of sleep.
more about yesterday, i dropped Dee off at the bart and then got the crochet, then joined Smi n Ike for pho, and it was damn good. smi ditched us to go to best buy n have dinner with Ston when he knew we were all heading out together. oh well. Ike n bert n i went to the starbucks at the corner and chatted about... perceptions, like sensory perceptions and if banana really tastes the same to all of us, or hotness really looks the same or if it's really that different for all of us. it was interesting. also Ike was excited about this kinda sms service like a personal google for anything, videos, music, random facts, that you just call in to ask for and the service agent will sms the link or file or info to your multimedia phone. sounds like a great idea, but i kinda think there might be something like that already out there. i got like really jittery after a little but from the caffeine, and Bert came with me to meet Ston n Smi for the stuff, then we just hung out at Ston's for crocheting and a game of True Colors, a silly game about how well you know your friends and what they think of you. we just need to get to know each other more to make the game really fun. we also talked a bit about like wisdom and solitude that we all need, and personal experience bringing insight to ourselves and the world. ah the greatness of calm times without alcohol or too loud music.
