Sitting with a more enlightened person really opens doors to the possibilities of life. Already we've talked about planning futures of travel and work, choosing a major that will guarantee a future and living money, keeping with daily faith, finding the right people to hang around with, doing the right free time activities.
If I'm trying to find work in the customer service area, then I can easily find one. There are many Success books to read and the library is a really great place to hang around.
My major doesn't have to be exactly what I want to do, just close enough and will put food on the table and keep a roof over my head. I won't get anywhere if I don't start somewhere. And the greatest, richest, most successful men had to start somewhere. I have to learn tolerance, build up a personal dedication and fastidiousness 努力. There are always things I don't want to go through, but I have to either way, just like everyone else.
Since I know chinese already, I should really study more sutras and read chinese classics. Art and simplicity at it's best.
People I hang around with have a profound ability to stall my progress. The ones I hang around with should be of like mind, want more from life, respect it and everything in it. I can be around lost ones to try to lead them in a more worthy direction, but not let them impede my progress.

it's great to hear companies helping students pay college tuition, big rich guys setting up scholarships at their alma mater, but what about the other students? in high school? in elementary school? middle school? with the budget cuts, schools need more money than ever.

but why are the budget cuts happening? where is this money going?

why take away music and athletics and extracurricular activities like that? they are the basis of our society, what we all enjoy and come together for. classical musicians, bands, singers, baseballers, footballers, swimmers, we all love them. if we take them out of ours schools, nothing will entertain us, our weekends will be filled with healthy activities like hiking, reading, cooking, housecleaning. our bus rides will be filled with the sounds of pages flipping and light conversation. at the same time, kids will not be born smart because no one will be around to play Mozart to the mom. plus these things keep most kids off the street and away from dangerous stuff...

why choose schools and children to suffer versus the big companies that can afford the hit? why make the poor pay when the rich can easily dive into their pockets if they were told what's going on and why the state needs their help? as far as i know, most rich are often selfish, but with the right incentive and education on the state of current affairs, and they'd probably be willing to part with a small percentage of their savings, which can be a huge help to those not even able to set up savings.

what message are we sending to our posterity then? that we don't care about them? that education is not important at all? that they are just one of a hundred other kids that don't matter and should just blend in with the crowd and not explore their possibilities? sigh the state of the union isn't very bright.... i'm glad to hear that students are taking matters into their own hands and getting representatives and politicians to do something. with the right energy, the flow might reach the white house. and maybe the kids will be the ones to bring back out troops? what a wonderful world.
